5 Favorites - Places to visit in Washington this Spring

At CoCapsules, we’re all about living a life full of only the things you love. For us, sometimes that means escaping the city for a weekend getaway. Below are some of our favorite places to visit around Washington state in the Spring when the flowers start to bloom and the sun finally starts breaking through the cloudy PNW days.

Lake Diablo

If you’ve never made the trip to the North Cascades National Park for this hike, you’re missing out. It can be a long drive for those living in the greater Seattle area, but it’s worth the mileage. You’ll reach this beautiful lake destination after about 7.5 miles of hiking and 1,500 feet of elevation gain. If you’re up for it, there’s plenty of campgrounds in the area so you can extend your trip. Wait until May to hit the trails, when the temperatures rise and the sun starts peeking out from behind the trees. Be sure to grab your favorite polarized sunnies for this adventure.

Winthrop, Washington

This hidden gem of a country town in Okanogan County is known for outdoor recreation. Although they’re most famous for their winter activities, the Spring offers a bounty of different outdoor adventures. Starting in May, Morning Glory Balloon Tours open their hot air balloon rides, it’s warm enough for a round of golf, a hike into the hills, or a drink outside at one of their many restaurants or bars. If you enjoy outdoor activities or just want an escape from the city, Winthrop is the place for you. Be sure to bring a jacket or cozy cardigan with you, the evenings will be chilly until late summer!

Walla Walla, Washington

Hey fellow wine lovers, Walla Walla is the place to be this Spring. In early April they host a Kick Off Weekend where “vines are awakening with bursting buds, fields, and trees grow green and flowers begin to bloom. This weekend ushers in another great wine season in the Valley and wineries invite guests and visitors to stop by and celebrate with special events, music, and festivities.” Then in early May, stop by for the Spring Release Weekend where wineries will showcase their latest releases and rejoice in the return of warmer days. Before you go, make sure you grab a few of our favorite pieces from the Spring Capsule collection

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Starting in April, head to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival to celebrate millions of tulips bursting into bloom. There’s family-friendly activities planned every day for those who need to keep little ones entertained. We may be biased, but if you’re looking for a perfect photoshoot opportunity this Spring, our Spring Capsule collection paired with the backdrop of millions of blooming tulips, definitely makes for an Instagrammable moment ;)

Cle Elum, Washington

In the heart of Central Washington, and home to the beautiful Suncadia Resort, you’ll find countless activities this Spring in the Cle Elum area. From a day in the hills, to an afternoon on the golf course, to a morning at the spa, Suncadia really is the perfect place to stay while exploring the beauty of Central Washington. Expect to see CoCapsules at a few of Suncadia’s outdoor markets throughout the Spring and Summer as well! If you want to know when we’re headed that way, be sure to join our newsletter mailing list.
